Feeding Therapy

Feeding and swallowing therapy for picky eaters

Feeding / Swallowing Therapy is performed by one of our SOS trained and/or certified occupational therapists or expertly trained speech-language therapists. Our occupational therapists target the sensory-based feeding issues relating to the sight, smell, taste and texture of foods as well as the utensils and serving ware associated with eating. Our speech-language therapists target the anatomical, physiological, and mechanical processes of swallowing.

Social Skills

Socials Skills groups are led by a speech therapist and bring together children of the same or near the same age who may have difficulty with turn taking during conversation or in play, maintaining topics of conversation, adding information to conversation, seeking information, following directions, expressing emotions, identifying and understanding body language, nonverbal cueing, requesting items from others, non literal language, eye contact, and more.

Tele-Therapy

Tele-therapy is offered using a HIPAA compliant platform for families who prefer to have treatment sessions from the comfort of their homes. Tele-therapy may also be offered as a makeup session. These sessions are beneficial for children with busy schedules that may be involved in school activities or sports as well as traveling families.
